Orienteering Sprint Distance is a short, fast-paced race on campus and parkland with complex route choice. Winning times expected to be around 12-15mins for elites.

Sprint & middle distance orienteering races over two consecutive days.

No practice sessions will be arranged by Perth 2027 WPFG.

Event Cost: $35 per event

format

Each runner starts separately at equal, predetermined intervals.

The only aids a runner may use during the competition are the map, control descriptions (provided by the Host), SI timing chip and a compass (provided by the runner).

SI timing chips will be available for hire from the Host.

Please note: Northern hemisphere compasses do not work properly in the Southern hemisphere due to magnetic dip.

A limited number of Southern hemisphere compasses will be available to hire or purchase from the Host.

Medals are awarded to athletes placing first through third.

Medal ceremonies will take place at the conclusion of the race, at the competition venue.

This venue is serviced by a dedicated WPFG Shuttle.  

 

Use your free public transport to get to Stirling Train Station. 

 

From there a dedicated Games shuttle from will convey you to St Marys Anglican School, Trigg, with a return service.   

 

Departure and return times will be aligned to sport timings.
