sport information
Cross Country at Perth 2027 WPFG is offered in 2 distances:
- 5 K. (3.1 miles)
- 10 K. (6.2 miles)
The course will be 5km, with the 10km race athletes doing the course twice.
The 5km course is undulating with ~100m elevation. ~3.2km of limestone gravel & ~1.8km of grass/dirt. Mass start line on grass oval.
Competitors may only run one (1) Individual event.
The Team event is 10 K (6.2 miles) ONLY, not offered in the 5km distance.
Weigh-Ins will take place for heavy weight categories only.
Location: The Games Hub – Official weigh-in room.
Please ensure you are dressed appropriately for weigh-in when attending.

In order to run on a Team, Competitor must also enter the Individual event.
Competitors in both events are scored by the result of one race.
format
COMPETITION FORMAT
Both 5km & 10km races will start together, unless there is ~300+ total competitors over both distances.
If more than ~300 total competitors, the 5km race will start 45 minutes after the 10km race.
Individual
5km & 10km mass start together with gun time being used to determine finish time and placing.
Team
A team consists of a maximum of 4 runners (best 3 scores to count)
At least 3 team members must complete the course for the team to be eligible for medals.
The aggregate score of the best 3 times determines Team score. If a placing team has 4 team members, the fourth team member may only receive a medal if he/she starts and finishes the race.

Medals are awarded to athletes placing first through third in each division.
Awards ceremony will take place at approximately 10:00am at Perry Lakes Reserve.
getting there
This venue is serviced by the Mount Claremont Precinct WPFG Shuttle.
Walk or use your free public transport to get to Elizabeth Quay Bus Station.
From there a dedicated Games shuttle will convey you to Perry Lakes, Floreat, with a return service.
Departure and return times will be aligned to sport timings. Times will be available closer to the event.
