Orienteering Middle Distance will be a moderate orienteering length courses on urban parkland and trail networks. Winning times expected to be around 30-35minutes for elites.
No practice sessions will be arranged by Perth 2027 WPFG.

format
COMPETITION FORMAT
Each runner starts separately at equal, predetermined intervals.
The only aids a runner may use during the competition are the map, control descriptions (provided by the Host), SI timing chip and a compass (provided by the runner).
SI timing chips will be available for hire from the Host.
Please note: Northern hemisphere compasses do not work properly in the Southern hemisphere due to magnetic dip.
A limited number of Southern hemisphere compasses will be available to hire or purchase from the Host.

Medals are awarded to athletes placing first through third.
Medal ceremonies will take place at the conclusion of the race, at the competition venue.

This venue will NOT be serviced by a WPFG Shuttle.
This location is readily accessible using free public transport including the CAT Bus Service.
