sport information
The Push Pull event is a strength competition built around two classic powerlifting movements: the bench press (push) and the deadlift (pull).
It follows generally accepted international lifting standards, but the event is non-sanctioned, meaning it is not officially governed or affiliated with established powerlifting federations.
Athletes perform both lifts, and their best successful attempts are combined for an overall result.
Competition takes place between lifters in categories defined by gender, bodyweight and age.
Competitors may compete in their designated age category or choose to enter the 18–29 category; this selection must be indicated on the entry form. Any requested changes must be finalised before the start of the Games.
Event Entry Deadline: Sunday, 28 February 2027
Event Cost: USD $50

format
COMPETITION FORMAT
The Push Pull competition is a three-round event consisting of the bench press (push) and deadlift (pull). Lifters compete within defined weight, age, and gender categories, and all results are recorded under strict international-style lifting standards.
At weigh-in, competitors declare their opening attempts, which determine the initial lifting order. Each lifter is allowed three attempts per lift, with weights increasing each round under a progressive “rising bar” system. Lifting order is based on declared weight, with lighter attempts performed first.
Final rankings are based on the highest successful lift in each discipline (bench press and deadlift).
A lifter’s total score is the combined highest successful bench press and deadlift. Competitors are ranked within their respective weight, age, and gender divisions based on this total.
