sport information
Competitors must be members of a national federation affiliated to the World Taekwondo (WT). Proof of membership by means of a valid license, insurance and grade will be required at registration.
A MANDATORY weigh-in will be conducted the day prior to the start of the competition. Each athlete SHALL attend this weigh-in. It is the responsibility of the athlete to make sure that they are in attendance for this weigh-in to provide fair competition for all athletes in this event. If you do not attend the scheduled weigh-in, you will be DISQUALIFIED FROM THE EVENT.
All competitors must submit a Report of Medical Examination, signed by a licensed physician, based on a physical exam completed within six (6) weeks of the opening day of competition.
The athlete is required to retain the original completed form and must present it at athlete registration and at the official weigh in. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in inability to compete.
Equipment
Contestants shall wear a WT- approved Taekwondo uniform (dobok).
The contestant shall bring the following WT- approved protective equipment for their personal use:
Groin guard
Forearm and shin guards
Hand protector
Mouthpiece (transparent or white)
PSS Daedo Sensor socks
Head protector (red, blue, or white)

Poomsae Competition Format
Cut‑Off Tournament Format
A designated percentage or number of the highest‑scoring athletes advance to subsequent rounds.
Athletes will compete in divisions determined by age, gender, rank, and weight, with competitors progressing through a structured elimination format.
Preliminary Round
Contestants perform designated compulsory Poomsae.
Advancement to the Semi‑Final Round is based on total score ranking.
Semi‑Final Round
A reduced field of qualified athletes performs again.
The highest‑scoring competitors progress to the Final Round.
Final Round
Finalists perform for medal determination.
Order of performance may be based on ranking from the preceding round.
Final placings are determined by final round scores.
KYORUGI COMPETITION FORMAT
Single Elimination with Repechage
Athletes who lose to either finalist will enter the repechage bracket, providing a second opportunity to compete for bronze medals.
The duration of the contest shall be three rounds of two minutes each, with a one-minute rest period between rounds.
Match Format – Best‑of‑Three Round System
Each match consists of up to three rounds.
The first athlete to win two rounds is declared the winner of the match.
Progression
Athletes advance through the following stages, subject to entry numbers:
1 – Round of 16
2 – Quarterfinals
3 – Semifinals
4 – Final
Bronze Medal Matches
Two bronze medals are awarded per weight division.
Athletes defeated by the finalists compete through the repechage rounds for bronze placement.
AWARDS
Medals are awarded for First, Second, and Third Place in each division.
Awards ceremonies will take place daily following the conclusion of competition.
