SPORT INFORMATION

The wrestling competition will feature Freestyle (male and female) and Greco-Roman (male only) divisions.

Athletes will compete in divisions determined by age, gender, and weight, with competitors progressing through a structured elimination format.

A MANDATORY weigh-in will be conducted the day prior to the start of the competition. Each athlete SHALL attend this weigh-in. It is the responsibility of the athlete to make sure that they are in attendance for this weigh-in to provide fair competition for all athletes in this event. If you do not attend the scheduled weigh-in, you will be DISQUALIFIED FROM THE EVENT.

MEDICAL

All competitors must submit a Report of Medical Examination, signed by a licensed physician, based on a physical exam completed within six (6) weeks of the opening day of competition.

The athlete is required to retain the original completed form and must present it at athlete registration and at the official weigh in. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in inability to compete.

FORMAT

COMPETITION FORMAT

All bouts consist of two (2) three‑minute periods, with a thirty (30) second rest interval between periods.

Competitions are conducted using a single-elimination system, based on an ideal bracket size (4, 8, 16, 32, 64 competitors). If a weight category does not have an ideal number of wrestlers, qualification matches will be held to complete the bracket.

Match pairing is determined by a random draw, in accordance with UWW rules.

A repechage system is used:

– Wrestlers who lose to either of the two finalists enter repechage.

– Two separate repechage groups are formed—one for athletes who lost to each finalist.

– Repechage matches begin with first‑round losers (including qualification matches) and continue through to semi‑final losers.

– The winner of each repechage group is awarded a Bronze Medal, resulting in two Bronze Medals per weight category.

Each weight category is completed in one day, with the official weigh‑in held the day before competition.

If a category has fewer than six competitors, a Nordic (Round‑Robin) format will be used, where each wrestler competes against every other wrestler.

AWARDS

Medals are awarded to athletes placing first through third in each division (with dual bronze medals for third).

Awards ceremonies will take place at the competition venue.
